Many schools have discussions on school lunches. Are the school lunches environmentally friendly? What is the quality? Who eats and who doesn´t? This figure shows connections of school meals to different actions, cultures, and administration. The school meals appear to be part of a complex system!

Across several ECF4CLIM demonstration sites, solar panels have been installed —not just as technical upgrades, but as learning opportunities. These structural interventions required collaboration both within schools and universities, and also with municipalities.

At the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, ECF4CLIM supported the interdisciplinary collaborative development process of a 25 credit study module called “Basic Multidisciplinary Studies in Sustainability Transitions”.

In one Spanish school the principal noticed and seized the opportunity to act as part of the Eco-schools network and receive support from the ECF4CLIM project for the development of environmental activities.

The Footprint calculator allows users (students, teachers, personnel, families) to assess their performance in terms of the main environmental impacts. The Footprint calculator is based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.

The learning space gives access to educational resources designed to improve citizens’ awareness, learning and capacity for climate actions and sustainability. These educational materials are divided into materials for students, for teachers and games.
